Safety Tips for Drivers That Ship Cars

Transport safety professionals recently made a few suggestions they think will help make the car transport industry of the United States and the transport drivers on the roads and highways taking cargo to destination safer during the miles ahead for the transport industry of the United States of America. What kind of suggestions are these transport safety professionals suggesting could help transport drivers out on the roads and highways of North America drive safer? They suggest that firms and transport drivers should try to reduce in-cab distractions that take the drivers attention away from the road and the job of driving an auto transport vehicle in as safe a manner as humanly possible. They also suggested that federal transport safety regulators should maybe try to use technology standards, transport safety enforcement, transport driver education and all associated data in order to help them in the battle to reduce in-cab distractions for the transport drivers of the United States of America.

The transport safety professionals in this case also think the United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration should take all current research into account in the desire to reduce in-cab distractions for transport drivers trying to control car shipping prices, and all transport drivers in America. They also think that finding alternatives to things like visual messaging and working with firms that manufacture in-cab distractions to see if they can come up with a few standards that could reduce the amount drivers are distracted by the products they manufacture is a good idea. All sound advice that hopefully transport drivers around the United States will take to heart.

Heavy Duty Vehicle Transport Orders Up

Transport professionals in the business of great auto transport reviews will be interested in the news that during September reports indicate there were a lot more heavy-duty Class 8 trucks ordered in the United States of America. The latest numbers indicate that 15,231 heavy-duty Class 8 trucks were ordered in September, which is a 37 percent increase over the number of heavy-duty Class 8 trucks sold during the same period in 2009, and means September was the second best month of orders for heavy-duty Class 8 trucks in the recent past. This is even more significant when you consider that according to transport professionals September isn't traditionally a good month for heavy-duty Class 8 orders. The real question in the months ahead for the transport firms of America will be whether this trend continues to gather momentum, or levels off a bit.

This news definitely indicates an increase in the demand for heavy-duty Class 8 trucks and auto shipping services in the United States of America in the last few months and in the future, according to many transport professionals doing business in North America. This likely means that firms are preparing to ship more vehicles in the days and months ahead in the United States of America and feeling a little more confident about investing money in new transports. Great news that will have auto transport workers and owner operators conducting transport services smiling as they travel down the roads of North America. Hopefully, as we travel further down the road in the months ahead orders for heavy-duty trucks in North America continues to increase, and the business of transport gains additional momentum.

Car Haulers in New Jersey

You won't find any snow on your auto transport if you're operating in the Garden State of the United States in the next few days, at least the latest weather forecasts are calling for no snow in the near future. If it does snow, you probably want to make sure you clear snow and ice off of your transport vehicle, or you could be assessed a fine of up to $75 for not making sure you take care of this job. Starting October 20, this rule affects the job of transporting cars to destination in New Jersey, and you definitely want to make sure that if it snows you don't allow snow and ice to build up on your truck cab or trailer.

If snow or ice falls from your vehicle transport and causes property damage or hurts someone, you could be given a hefty fine. This doesn't affect snow and ice accumulating on a transport vehicle out on the roads of North America that's heading to a place to have the snow and ice removed. This new idea in New Jersey doesn't seem to meet the logic-test that transport professionals have been putting it through as occupational health and safety legislation in place usually prohibits transport drivers from climbing to the top of trailers, without the proper safety equipment.

The latest thought in connection with this idea includes using the collected revenue from fines issued under the new ruling to create a snow and ice removal safety fund, which according to many professionals in the business of shipping cars overseas would provide incentives for fleets and truckstops to install snow removal equipment in their facilities in the future. There's also a concern that other municipalities looking for ways to generate revenue will see this idea as a great way to put more money in their coffers in the miles ahead.

Telogis Fleet 8's new tricks include an International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFA)/International Registration Plan (IRP) data feed, keeping track of the histories of a fleet of transport vehicles, an imaging system that improves the safety of transport and a fuel card component that monitors and manages fuel cards. All of these new features have been built around a platform already offering car transport professionals a useful set of tools to help manage the vehicles of a transportation company, according to Telogis.

Telogis indicates that Telogis Fleet 8 integrates Telogis Route and Telogis Mobile into this new tool to create a complete platform for transport professionals that monitors the location, health, performance and security of your transport vehicles as they travel down the roads of America. Auto Shipping With Clean Diesel Fuel

Your car transport vehicles could be operating using clean diesel fuel in the future and this could become a fuel the transport industry of the United States of America could use during the transition to cleaner fuels, according to a recently released study. The United States is also currently moving down the road toward implementing tougher environmental and fuel economy standards and expanding the use of renewable fuels in the transport industry of the United States. This news was reported in the recently released Hart Energy Consulting report, "Diesel: Fueling the Future of a Green Economy", during the Diesel Technology Forum held in conjunction with the United States Department of Energy 2010-2011 Winter Fuels Outlook Conference at the National Press Club.

What else did the Hart Energy report indicate about the growth of the use of clean diesel fuel in the car carriers of the United States delivering customers cars in an efficient, reliable and cost-effective manner on a daily basis? According to the Hart Energy report the growth of clean diesel fuel hasn't been the same in all sectors of the transport industry and diesel has outpaced the growth of the use of gasoline, and continues to be the main source of fuel for the transport industry of America as we head into the second decade of the century of the environment. The report also reports the growth of clean diesel fuel in the light duty transport industry, the increase in the availability of clean diesel for auto transport in America and the future role renewable diesel fuels will play in the transport industry.

Safer to Ship Cars Along I-80 in Wyoming

A crash during auto transport is an event any driver and transport firm wants to avoid and if this means traveling a little slower along certain stretches of roads, so be it. Traveling slower along a 52-mile stretch of the I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins has been the law during the past few years, due to a speed limit of 65 miles per hour being enforced along this stretch of highway. The decrease in crashes along this stretch of the I-80 has been noticed by the Wyoming Department of Transportation and they have just installed variable speed limit signs along this 52-mile stretch of highway. Sources indicate that these variable speed limit signs will allow the Wyoming Department of Transportation to reduce speed limits by 5 mph increments to as low as 35 mph as the weather changes. This means that as auto shipping road conditions between Quealy Dome Interchange 20 miles west of Laramie and the Peterson Interchange 22 miles east of Rawlins change the department can change the speed limits in response.

The possibility of a crash is something transport firms trying to control their car shipping prices go to great lengths to avoid. The implementation of variable speed limits on the transport highways and roadways of the United States is definitely an idea that has come-of-age and we'll certainly see more variable speed limit signs along the highways in the years ahead in the century of the environment in America. This will give state transport agencies a better way to respond to changing weather conditons and the effects this can have on the transport of vehicles to destination.

Proudly Car Shipping to Puerto Rico

North American car haulers proud of the job they do will smile when they hear about the latest Truckload Carrier Association (TCA) Highway Angel, Jaime Avitia, and how he came to be recognized for stopping to help another human being in need of help out on the roads and highways of the United States of America. On August 31, 2010, at about 1 a.m., Jaime was driving down Interstate 10 near Balmorhea, Texas, on his way to a company location in Laredo, Texas. Beneath him was Highway 17, which you can access using the Interstate 10 using a service road, but otherwise this route ends in a dead end, according to sources. Jamie saw a smaller truck moving down Highway 17, toward the dead end, when the truck suddenly veered off of the road, and vaulted into the air. Sources indicate the smaller truck flipped in the air, but landed upright, but still managed to lose two tires during the flight.

Thinking fast, Jamie apparently stopped his truck, grabbed his flashlight and first-aid kit, and ran down a hill to see if there was anything he could do to help. A brave reaction in a tense situation that will make the car transport driver and all transport drivers of North America proud when they hear this news. Upon arriving at the truck, Jamie looked into the vehicle and quickly determined what he needed to do. Moving to aid the driver, who was in the backseat, and apparently partly hanging out the back window of the vehicle, Jamie managed to find the space to administer first-aid to the driver, and revived the driver after a few tense moments of CPR. Stabilizing the situation, Jamie supported the driver, and tried to make sure he was as comfortable and supported as possible, while another trucker that had stopped to help called 911. Just another days work for this trucker, but definitely a day the driver in the pickup truck will never forget, and one that will make the auto transport driver proud to say he's a trucker.

New Car Shipping Transports Ordered

Reports indicate that auto shipping firms and transport companies in general have been putting in orders for new Navistar International trucks and engines in the last quarter of 2010. Navistar International is reporting of late that orders for 2010 EPA-compliant trucks and engines are going up, and they have shipped about 7,000 trucks, since June. Navistar International is also indicating that momentum appears to be growing in the desire for firms to put in orders for new 2010 EPA-compliant transports and they expect to sell about 17,000 transport vehicles across North America by the end of 2010. At present, the firm indicates that their engine plants are putting out about 380 engines a day, and currently about 85 of these are MaxxForce 13 engines.

Transportation firms and owner operators that plan on using a new 2010 EPA-compliant transport to ship cars to destination in a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective manner in the months and years ahead in the century of the environment will be paying attention to this news. Navistar International is currently developing a 15-liter engine based on the Caterpillar C15 platform, called the MaxxForce 15, which is expected to provide some transport professionals with the extra power they need to get the job done. They also have been trying to introduce transport professionals in the United States with the possible benefits of their smaller displacement MaxxForce 13, over the higher displacement MaxxForce 15, during the past few months, and this does appear to be finding a car transporter or two that agrees.

Car Carriers Heading into Indianapolis on I-70

Transport professionals planning of conducting car shipping services along a six-mile stretch of Interstate 70 heading into downtown Indianapolis will need to look at alternate routes to make it to destination on time. The latest reports from state highway officials indicates that all lanes on I-465 on the west side of Indianapolis to its downtown junction with I-65 will be closed to traffic for a twelve hour period, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., one day this week. According to sources, about 8,500 volunteers will be planting trees, shrub and flowers along the highway, and making the area a little greener for all. Organizers are hoping to make the gateway into the city from the Indianapolis International Airport look better and planting a few trees and shrubs will certainly accomplish this.

This news is going to make a change of plans necessary for the car transporter that was planning on using this route to take customers vehicles to destination in a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective manner on the day in question. This isn't necessarily going to mean major changes in services for any firms planning on using this route, and they do know ahead of time, so they can make the necessary changes to their business plans. Hopefully, they get the trees, shrubs, and flowers planted as quickly as possible, and only close this route for a minimum amount of time. Once they get the job done the area will look a lot better, when driving through, and America will be a little greener, and this is the best part of this news.

We certainly need to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers to make the areas surrounding vehicle transport roads look better, but it might be a good idea to make this idea part of the original plans when putting the roads and highways in place. This is probably going to save time and money, and keep the transports flowing better along the roads as America enters the second decade of the century of the environment.

10-Wheel Car Transports

American auto transport firms running 10-wheels on their transports, these day, rather than the traditional 18-wheels the transport industry has used for years will be interested in the news that more and more transport professionals in the United States of America are tuning into the benefits of running 10-wheels, over 18-wheels. Another transport firm operating on the roads and highways of North America announced they are making the switch to 10-wheels, from 18-wheels, and would now be running single-wide drive tires on their estimated 11,000 transport vehicles in the months and years ahead in the century of the environment.

This announcement was made during a meeting at Michelin North America headquarters this week as professionals in the business of controlling auto shipping rates were on hand to watch as the 1 millionth X-One wide-base tire came off of the Michelin assembly line. Sources indicate that the first wide-based X-One tire was made about a decade ago, and this one million tire milestone is a significant development for both the transport industry of the United States of America and Michelin. They also indicate that single-wide drive tires during the past decade have become mainstream in the transport industry of America, and they have even started making inroads into other transport applications.

Professionals car shipping to Puerto Rico that want to check out the results firms implementing single-wide drive tires on their transport vehicles are achieving should talk to transport professionals using these tires in their fleet operations. This could be another way for you to save money and possibly benefits in other ways down the transport roads of America in the days ahead.
